The Final Push

Hey everyone, been very busy this week finishing up projects and preparations before our Panama Canal transit date on January 29th.

Mainly what took up most of the week was the installation of our new Hydrovane, which will allow us to steer the boat with the power of the wind and the sea, greatly reducing our offshore power requirements. The installation took 3 days and required lots of planning and forethought.

Luckily I had Simon helping me the whole time and he was also able to grab some action shots of the installation and some candid moments from the week.

A woman from one of our neighboring boats decided to put on a Chinese dumpling making workshop for everyone in the marina. The girls decided to have a go at it. Simon and I enjoyed all the spoils!

Sewing projects begin

I’d like to take this moment to give lots of credit to my good friend Simon. He’s been helping out big time with all the projects and has been our team photographer. All these photos are his and he has a great talent for capturing raw moments.

Things are about to get serious, real soon. We are one week away from our planned departure to the Galapagos.

Talk to you guys before our departure.
