Charter Yachts

Catamarans

In recent years both sailing and power catamarans have gained a lot of popularity in the charter industry. Their wide beam and double hulls give them a tremendous amount of space when compared with a similar sized monohull. They are great for entertaining guests.

Monohulls

Monohull sailboats are for the purists. In my opinion there is a connection between the person on a monohull and the ocean that you just don’t feel on a catamaran. Some of the modern monohulls can pack in a lot of space and comfort for their respective size. They also come at a fraction of the cost of a similar sized catamaran. You’re likely to find a luxury 60ft monohull at the same charter rate as a 45-50ft Catamaran. Generally speaking, guests cabins on monohulls under 60ft will be smaller than on a catamaran.

Superyacht Rates

Charter rates vary depending on size, year, and type of vessel. The bigger and newer the yacht the more expensive it will be to charter and vice versa. As a reference, a 1998, recently refitted 173ft luxury sailing yacht with 5 guest cabins charters for around $160,000 USD.
